NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The visiting Trinity College Bantams opened the 2021-22 season in style with a 2-0 road victory against the No. 7-ranked Norwich University Cadets in women's ice hockey action this afternoon.  Seniors Ellie Fellows and Angelica Mushenko scored goals for the Bantams and sophomore Hannah Leclair made 21 saves to collect a shutout in her collegiate debut.  Trinity hosts Manhattanville in its next game on Tuesday at 7 p.m., its first game of the year at the Koeppel Community Sports Center.

After a scoreless first period, Fellows stuffed home a loose puck in the crease off an assist by junior Stephanie Nevers (West Suffield, Conn.) who had centered a pass from behind the net.  Trinity capped the scoring with an empty-net goal with 0.3 seconds left in the game when Mushenko shoveled the puck home on a breakaway.  Alex  Berg had 21 saves in goal for Norwich.
