HARTFORD, Conn. - The Trinity College football team, coached by 
Jeff Devanney (16th Season, 103-20), will host the Amherst College Mammoths as part of the college's Family Weekend on Saturday, November 6 at 1 p.m.  The Bantams, which lost its first game of the year, 42-3, at Williams over the weekend, is currently tied with Wesleyan for second place behind undefeated Williams in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) at 6-1.  Trinity and Amherst will be meeting for the 116th time on Saturday and Trinity trails the all-time series against the Mammoths, 60-46-9, but owns a two-game winning streak against them.  The Bantams are currently ranked No. 4 in the New England Football Writers Division III Poll: 1. Williams (7-0), 2. Salve Regina (8-1), 3. Endicott (7-2), 
4. TRINITY (6-1), 5. Framingham State (6-2), 6. Wesleyan (6-1), 7. Western New England (5-3), 8. Mass.-Dartmouth (7-2), 9. Husson (6-2), 10. Springfield (5-3).
Trinity tops the NESCAC in pass efficiency (177.1 QB rating), sacks (19-142), red zone offense (28 for 33 with 25 TDs), and time of possession (34:20 per game). Junior QB 
Spencer Fetter (Winter Park, Fla.) leads the league in passing (282.7 ypg), and total offense (296.6 ypg), and has 20 touchdown tosses to just two interceptions. Sophomore RB 
William Kirby (Darien, Conn.) is third in the conference with 602 rushing yards including 10 touchdowns. Senior captain WRs 
DeVante Reid (London, England) and 
Jonathan Girard (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) are among the conference's top four in both receptions and receiving yards with 48 for 696 and 47 for 680, respectively, while Girard adds a league-best 10 touchdown catches. Kirby also ranks fourth in all-purpose yards with 761, followed by Reid in sixth with 702, and Girard in seventh with 680.  On defense, senior DL 
Noah Glantz (Scarsdale, N.Y.) is third in the NESCAC with four sacks, followed by junior DL 
Joseph Lepore (Winchester, Mass.) in sixth with 3.5 (tied), while Glantz is also third in tackles for loss with 10. Senior captain 
Brian Casagrande (Madison, Conn.) paces Trinity in tackles with 38, while senior captain DB 
Matt McCarthy (North Reading, Mass.) has 35, and junior LB 
Cade Klarides-Ditria (Seymour, Conn.) adds 28.  In Trinity's first loss of the season at Williams, a bad snap on a punt on Trinity's first drive started things off in the wrong direction and the Bantams could not recover. Rookie Matt Jumes (Franklin, Mass.) accounted for the lone Trinity points with a 24-yard field goal. Fetter threw for 141 yards, while Kirby rushed for a team-high 69 yards, and Girard caught four passes for 51 yards. Casagrande paced the defense with 10 tackles. 
Amherst, coached by E.J. Mills, has bounced back from early losses to Bates and Colby and is still in the hunt for a share of the NESAC title after two victories in a row. Several quarterbacks have played for Amherst, while Kellen Field leads them in rushing with 446 yards, and Carson Ochsenhirt has a team-high 306 receiving yards. Tim Swope is second in the NESCAC defensively with 71 tackles, while Ryan Monteleone is tied for the conference lead in interceptions with three. Mammoths help themselves with their discipline, leading the league in fewest penalties with just 22.3 yards per game.
