Hartford, Conn. - Senior captains
Whitney Hoban (Winnetka, Ill.) and
Colleen Lux (Shaker Heights, Ohio) scored goals to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 2-1 victory over the visiting Worcester Polytechnic Institute Engineers in women's soccer action this evening. The Bantams improve to 2-0 for the first time since 2013, while the Engineers drop to 2-2. Trinity plays its third-straight home game on Sunday at noon against No. 7-ranked MIT, while the Engineers visit Rhode Island College on the same day at the same time.
Lux opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, converting on a pass by rookie back
Samantha Olsen (Cape Elizabeth, Maine), and Hoban scored from sophomore forward
Tori Simas (Newburyport, Mass.) 3:30 into the second half. Molly Vincent scored the WPI goal on a rebound off the cross bar in the 73rd minute. Vincent's shot was the only one on goal for the visitors in the game and they managed just a single wide shot in the final two minutes after the goal. Trinity sophomore
