Trinity Field Hockey Upends Endicott For Third Win In Six Days

Hartford, Conn. - Sophomore Jackie Frank (Longmeadow, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal with 3:59 left in the third quarter to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 2-1 victory over the visiting Endicott College Gulls in field hockey action this afternoon on Sheppard Field.  Trinity, ranked No. 19 in the nation, improves to 3-0 for the first time since 2013 with the home-opening triumph, while the No. 21-ranked Gulls drop to 1-2 with their second loss in a row.  The Bantams will host New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) rival Colby on Saturday in their next game.  Endicott hosts Connecticut College on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Frank scored the clincher from fellow sophomore Katrina Winfield (Wilmington, Del.) after Endicott had tied the game at 1-1 on a goal by Meaghan Hogan 2:30 after halftime.  Trinity senior captain Caelin Flaherty (Upton, Mass.) had scored the lone goal of the first half on a coast-to-coast sprint up the middle that ended with her beating Gull goalie Taylor Farrin with 3:13 remaining in the second quarter.  Trinity junior goalie Emma Cropper (Norwalk, Conn.) made two saves to up her season record to 3-0. Hogan had four saves in three quarters for the Gulls in a losing effort.
