Williamstown, Mass. - Junior back Matt Moran (Grosse Point Park, Mich.) netted his first goal of the season, as the visiting Trinity College Bantams fell just short, 2-1, against the Williams College Ephs in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's soccer action Saturday afternoon. The Bantams fall to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the league with their second-straight, one-gal setback.
Trinity came out of the gates strong as Moran scored within three minutes of the first half, assisted through a corner kick by sophomore Peter Bronson (Gaithersburg, Md.). Williams tied the game with a goal from junior Jake Saudek (Baltimore, Md.) heading into the halftime. The Ephs scored quick into the second with a goal from Nathan Song (Old Tappan, N.J.) to take the lead. The Bantams had four shot attempts in the second half including an exciting header by James Donaldson but ran out of time. Sophomore goalie, Bernardo Simoes (Lisbon, Portugal) gave a strong effort in goal with eight saves. Trinity returns to the field on Tuesday September 28th to face Western New England University on the Trinity Soccer field.
