HARTFORD, Conn. - Sophomore
Reilly Campbell (Wallingford, Conn.) had 17 points, making eight of 10 shots from the floor, and added seven rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 65-52 victory over the Wesleyan University Cardinals in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's basketball action this evening on Ogrodnik Court in Oosting Gymnasium. Trinity scored 25 points in the fourth quarter after falling behind in the third to improve to 11-3 overall and is 3-0 in the NESCAC for the first time since 2013-14. Wesleyan drops to 6-9 overall and 0-3 in the league. Trinity hosts Babson tomorrow at 5 p.m. and the Cardinals entertain conference rival Connecticut College on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Hannah Marzo (Shrewsbury, Mass.) stole the ball in the backcourt and scored on the other end to give the Bantams a 42-41 lead on the first points of the fourth quarter, and Trinity scored eight more points in a row to lead, 51-41, on a Campbell jumper with under five minutes left. Trinity junior
Samantha Gallo (Northford, Conn.) scored in the paint moments later to make the score, 53-43, and the home team led by double digits the rest of the way. Trinity outscored the Cardinals, 25-11, in the final stanza, after being outscored, 21-10, in the third quarter.
Trinity led, 30-20, at the half thanks to a 14-0 run in the first quarter that turned a 6-2 deficit into a 16-6 lead with 2:48 left before the first break. Senior tri-captain

Indianna DelRocco (Branford, Conn.) had five points each and Campbell scored the other four during the run. Wesleyan battled back in the third quarter, scoring eight points in a row and taking a 38-37 lead with 1:46 on the clock on two free throws by Marina Petruzzi. Brooke Guiffre made a 3-pointer to push the Cardinals up by four in the final minute of the third, but Campbell answered with a traditional 3-point play to bring the score back to 41-40 entering the fourth frame.
Trinity outscored Wesleyan, 30-12, in the paint and DelRocco (9 points) and Campbell came off the Bantam bench to outscore all the Cardinal reserves, 26-15. Gallo joined Campbell in double figures in scoring with 12 points to go with seven rebounds, while Marzo finished with seven points, six boards, and four assists. Petruzzi paced Wesleyan with 17 points. Guiffre had 15 points and Maddie Clark added 10 points and four assists for the Cardinals.
