Men's Indoor Track and Field Picks Up Numerous Event Victories in New London

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Competing in its third meet of the 2021-22 season, the Trinity College men's indoor track and field team picked up numerous event victories on Friday in host school, United States Coast Guard Academy's "Beat The Blizzard" meet. The Bantams compete again tomorrow in Boston, Mass. in the John Thomas Terrier Classic at 1:30 p.m.
 
First-year Ethan Wilkie (Ellington, Conn.) once again was the man to beat in the shot put, taking the crown for a third-straight time this season (14.02 m) while also picking up a second-place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 14.83 meters. 
 
Sophomore Terrance Bogan (Wallingford, Conn.) won the 55 Meter Dash with a 6.3 second hand-time while teammates Benjamin Trotter (Westford, Mass.), J.J. Mun (Seoul, South Korea) and Darren Warren (West Haven, Conn.) finished second, fourth and fifth respectively. 
 
Junior Kai Bailin (Shutesbury, Mass.) won the 200 Meter Dash clocking in at 22.8 seconds with Mun placing third (25.6). First-year Nolan McKenna (Boston, Mass.) took home the 400 Meter Dash crown with a 52.3 hand-time while Trotter and Pedro Mateo placed third and fourth respectively. 
 
In the distance runs, senior Tim Lautenbach (Weston, Conn.) won the 600 Meter (1:26.4) with teammate Larson Sippel (Northampton, Mass.) just a second on his tail (1:27.8) in the No. 2 spot. Junior Travis Martin (New Haven, Conn.) won the 1000 Meter (2:28.6) with Nicholas Dall (Waterville, Maine) placing third (2:39.0). Sam Strymish (Newton, Mass.) finished as the runner-up in the 1 Mile Run (4:30.0) while Toby L'Esperance (Florence, Mass.) earned a third-place finish, clocking a time of 4.33.8. 
 
In the jumps, senior Kinard Hughes (Chicago, Ill.) took home the long jump crown with a 6.60 meter mark while Nathan Brodeur (Nashua, N.H.) in the high jump (1.70 m) and Vicente Gil (Huntington, Valley, Pa.) in the Pole Vault (3.85 m) each placed third in their events.
