HARTFORD, Conn. — One goal was all the Trinity College field hockey team needed to seal the win over Keene State, but the Bantams notched nine in a 9-0 triumph over the visiting Owls at home on Wednesday. Trinity improved to 10-2 overall to remain perfect against all non-conference opponents this season, while Keene State dropped to 6-7.Â
In the cage,Â
Olivia McMichael (Glenside, Penn.) saw no shots by Keene State andÂ
Emma Cropper (Norwalk, Conn.) only faced a single shot by Paula Vasiliadis eight minutes into the third quarter. The Owls couldn't attempt shots as Trinity dominated from start to finish on both sides of the field. The Bantams attempted 28 shots and 19 on goal and the opening quarter saw an onslaught with 16 Bantam shots.
Eight minutes into the first quarterÂ
Jackie Frank (Longmeadow, Mass.) etched her first goal of the night, as she stole the ball from an Owl defender and drove across the top of the circle with a quick shot that found the back of the net. Fifty seconds later, the home team was granted a penalty stroke whereÂ
Izzy Deveney (Westport, Conn.) connected perfectly to put Trinity up 2-0. Frank recorded her second goal to open up the second quarter on a pass fromÂ
Molly King (Canton, Mass.).
Katrina Winfield (Wilmington, Del.) tallied her first of back-to-back goals, off of a penalty corner redirection from a shot from Frank.  Her second came four minutes later off a pass from Deveney. After the half, Trinity put Keene State in a hole with four more goals byÂ
Elizabeth Geisler (West Hartford, Conn.),Â
Demarest Janis (Cos Cob, Conn.) and a pair byÂ
Emma Cohen (Falmouth, Maine).
Cohen's goals came one minute into the third and fourth quarters off the sticks ofÂ
Caelin Flaherty (Upton, Mass.) and first-yearÂ
Kate McManus (Chatham, N.J.).Â
Riley Nichols (Austin, Texas) sent a perfect pass through the legs of an Owl to set up Geisler's first goal of the season in the third quarter.
Trinity hits the road to New England Small College Athletic Conference foe and currently top ranked Middlebury College on October 15 for an 11 a.m.contest.
