Men's Soccer Downed by Middlebury, 6-0

Middlebury, Vt. — The Trinity College men's soccer team dropped a 6-0 contest on the road at New England Small College Athletic Conference opponent Middlebury on Saturday. The Bantams fell to 0-8-3 overall and 0-7-1 in the league, while the Panthers improved to 9-1-2 and 5-1-2.

With the game at a stalemate through the first half, the home team notched six goals in the second half with the first connecting with the low center of the net a minute and a half in by Alem Hadzic. Middlebury fired 18 shots with 10 on goal and Trinity attempted eight with on aimed at the target. Michael Traynor (Rye, N.Y.) drilled the lone shot to opponent goalkeeper Ryan Grady. James Donaldson (Kirkland, Quebec) and Matt Moran (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich.) recorded a pair of shots each.

In the box, Bernardo Simoes (Lisbon, Portugal) stopped a quartet of shots including tough shots to the low and high center in the opening five minutes of the second half. The visitors blocked for shots with three of them in the first half to keep the scoreboard clean for the 45 minutes.

Trinity remains on the road as it faces Castleton University on Sunday in a 2 p.m. contest.
