HARTFORD, Conn. - The Trinity College football team, coached by
Jeff Devanney (17th Season, 110-20), will host the Bowdoin College Polar Bears on Saturday, October 29 at 1 p.m. The Bantams are alone in first place in the NESCAC at 6-0 after a 32-13 victory over Williams last weekend. The Polar Bears are 2-4 after snapping a four-game losing skid with a 24-14 triumph over Wesleyan last Saturday. Trinity leads all-time series against Bowdoin, 39-6-2 including a 38-14 drubbing in Brunswick, Maine a year ago. Trinity tops the NESCAC in scoring defense (11.2 ppg), total defense (230.3), rushing offense (168.5), rushing defense (36.0, 2nd in nation), passing defense (194.3), pass efficiency defense (109.9) first downs allowed (72), first downs (114), and time of possession (33:58 per game). Fetter ranks second in the league in passing in terms of both yards (1,461) and efficiency (151.0), and in total offense (247.5 ypg), while Kirby and McCabe are third and fifth in the conference with 369 and 345 rushing yards, respectively. Clapp is the seventh-leading receiver in the league with 30 catches for 403 yards (7th in NESCAC), and Reid ais tied for fifth in the conference with five touchdowns.
On defense, Glantz is the top pass rusher in the league with eight sacks while seniors
Justin O'Neil-Riley (Dorchester, Mass.) and
Darren Warren are tied for third and seventh, respectively in the NESCAC with seven and six passes defensed, respectively. The Bowdoin College football team, coached by B.J. Hammer, has already won more games in a season than any year since 2015. Andre Eden leads the NESCAC in rushing with 420 yards and has six touchdowns, while Andrew Boel has 1,364 passing yards but six interceptions against just five touchdown passes. Drew Ortiz is a top pass risher for Bowdoin with 6.5 sacks and Koy Price is solid in the secondary with two interceptions and six pass breakups.
