Trinity Volleyball Blanks Mitchell

HARTFORD, Conn. - Junior OH Lola Craig (Los Angeles, Calif.) had a team-high nine kills and 10 digs to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 3-0 victory over the visiting Mitchell College Mariners in volleyball action this evening at Oosting Gymnasium.  Trinity dominated form start to finish, winning, 25-15, 25-18,and, 25-14, to improve to 5-7 with its third win in a row.  Mitchell drops to 8-6.  The Bantams return to New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) play on Friday at home against Amherst at 7 p.m.

The second set was the most competitive, as Trinity led just, 19-17, before rattling off four straight points and six of the last seven.  Bantam sophomore Eva Lekovic (San Marino, Calif.) had a kills during the 4-0 run and finished the set off with a block solo.  Craig was a force, committing just one error to post a .381 hitting percentage, while Lekovis added eight kills with a .312 hitting percentage and a pair of blocks.  Sophomore L Julia Torre (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) was a major factor with six assists, two aces, and a team-high 16 digs, while senior Molly Bernstein (Oakland, Calif.) totaled four blocks.  Molly Steel-Miller paced Mitchell with 10 kills and Julia Lent added a team-high 13 digs.
