Alyssa Keane (Dedham, Mass.) recorded her first career goal for the Bantams off a centering pass by from the right corner by
Mia Fusco to take the early 1-0 lead 35:51 into the first half. The team moved to 5-0-6 on the season and 3-0-4 in the league, while the Polar Bears earned their first tie for a 7-2-1 and 2-2-1 record.
Six and a half minutes into the second half, Samaya Bernardo retaliated for the visitors to knot the score at one apiece off a foul straight to the goal. The Polar Bears attempted 19 shots and
Mariana Cournoyer (St. Paul, Minn.) saved 10 of them through 90 minutes. On the other side of the field, the home team delivered 10 shots with seven on goal.
Cassie Lee (Newton, Mass.) posted a team-leading five total shots with a season-high pair at target. The junior captain also had a season-high three shots.
Sadie Rudolph (Weston, Conn.) and
Hannah Storozuk (Tolland, Conn.) attempted two each. Rudolph aimed two at the goal, while Storozuk sent one toward the box. Bowdoin had a trio of corner kicks in both halves, but couldn't capitalize on the attempts.
The Bantams travel to Middlebury for an 11 a.m. contest on October 15.
