The Bantams had led, 9-2, early after two straight buckets by senior captain Frankie Silva (Auburndale, Mass.) and clung to an 11-10 lead at the first break. The Pioneers scored the first nine points of the second frame and held Trinity to just three free throws until Wax made a jumper in the final minute to make the score, 25-16, in the visitors' favor at halftime.  Two Morrison free throws gave Smith its largest lead at 35-23 midway through the third quarter, but five points by junior Tori Varsamis (Belmont, Mass.) and a trey from the left corner by Marzo pulled Trinity within a point at 35-34 with 1:43 on the clock.  Morrison scored inside and Campbell made a pair of free throws for a 37-36 Smith lead entering the fourth quarter.
