Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Men's Ice Hockey Falls 2-1 in OT at Hobart

GENEVA, N.Y. — After being down by a goal in the third period, Eamon Doheny (Lunenburg, Mass.) knotted the game at one a piece to force over time, but the Trinity College men's ice hockey team couldn't hold off Hobart College in overtime as they Bantams dropped a narrow 2-1 contest on the road on Saturday. The Bantams moved to 4-4 on the season, while Hobart remains perfect on the season with an 11-0 record. Trinity competes in the Northfield Savings Bank Holiday Tournamnet hosted by Norwich University, with the first matchup against the host team at 4 p.m. on December 30.

After a scoreless stalemate in the opening period, Hobart's Wil Crane notched the first goal of the game off the passes from Kahill Fortuna and Austin Mourar. Until this point, Devon Bobak (Northwood, Ohio) had 17 saves in the box for the Bantams. One minute and 32 seconds into the third period, Doheny fired the equalizer after Kyle Tomaso (Newport, R.I.) rebounded his previously wide shot and sent it to Riley Prattson (Tolland, Conn.) before the senior setup Doheny to force overtime. Three minutes into the extra time, Jonah Alexander ended the game with a sudden death shot off the sticks of Luke Aquaro and Matthieu Wuth.

After the game-tying goal by Trinity, the visitors had an oppurtinuty to capitalize off the shorthanded home team but only managed to let off a single shot. Hobart out shot the Bantams 38-25 as Bobak grabbed 36 pucks, including a contest-high 13 in the second period.
