Men's Ice Hockey Conquers Colby College for Third-Straight Triumph

HARTFORD, Conn. – First-year Alexander Mozian (Old Greenwich, Conn.) and sophomore John Campomenosi (Wayne, N.J.) each netted goals in a 2-1 win inside the Koeppel Community Sports Center to lead the Trinity College men's ice hockey team over Colby College on Saturday afternoon. The triumph puts the Bantams at 12-7-1 on the season with a 10-5-1 mark in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) play with Colby sliding to 12-4-2 and 9-3-2 in the conference. Trinity has two games remaining on its regular season schedule both of which are against Wesleyan University with Friday's trip to Middletown, Conn. up next for a 7 p.m. puck drop. Meanwhile, Colby will face Tufts University same day, same time.

First-year Alex Mozian netted his net his first career-goal and put Trinity on the board at the 6:28 mark in the first period. The puck was originally fired towards the net by junior Eric Sinson (Elm Grove, Wisc.) but Mozian managed to get his stick on the puck and redirect the shot past the outstretched goaltender. In the second period, Trinity capitalized on a power play at the 18:32 mark as sophomore John Campomenosi (Wayne, N.J.) was assisted by junior Paul Selleck (Laguna Hills, Calif.) to extended the lead to 2-0 for the Blue and Gold.

In the final frame, Colby's Jack Sullivan finally broke through to put the Mules on the board, with the unassisted goal coming at 13:28 and cutting the deficit back down to one score. In the final seconds, Sullivan riffled another one that nearly extended the game to extra time but sophomore goaltender Patrick Pugliese (Pasadena, Calif.) got his stick on the puck right before the final buzzer. Pugliese finished with 29 saves while Andy Beran tallied 30 for the visitors.
