HARTFORD, CONN. - First-year guard
Hannah Marzo (Shrewsbury, Mass.) scored the game-winning points on a pair of free throws with 24 seconds remaining to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 63-61 win over the Hamilton College Continentals in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's basketball action this afternoon. Trinity closes the regular season with a 16-5 record and finishes at the top of the NESCAC standings with an 8-2 record in the league. The Bantams and Tufts both finished 8-2, but Trinity defeated Tufts during the year, 60-42. Hamilton finishes at 9-12 overall and 2-7 in the NESCAC. Both teams will compete in the NESCAC Championship Tournament next weekend. Trinity sophomore guard Torui Varsamis (Belmont, Mass.) had a team-high 16 points.
Trinity trailed, 35-27, at the break and faced its largest deficit of the game at 41-31 with 7:24 left in the third quarter after a Hamilton layup by Emily Hall. The Bantams went on a 10-0 run at that point, as sophomore guard
Tori Varsamis (Belmont, Mass.) closed it with six straight points to tie the game at 41-all with 3:36 left before the final break. The Continentals went back ahead by eight at 49-41 with an 8-0 run and led, 51-44, after three quarters. Trailing, 57-52, at the four-minute mark, Trinity fought its way back again and tied it at 59-59 on a layup by senior tri-captain guard

Reilly Campbell (Wallingford, Conn.) answered with two game-tying shots from the foul line and a blocked a shot on the other end. Marzo was fouled on the rebound and gave Trinity the lead before Campbell blocked another shot with one second to preserve the win.
Four Bantams finished in double figures in scoring, as Campbell, junior
Samantha Gallo (Northford, Conn.), and Hyland joined Varsamis with 12, 11, and 10 points, respectively. Gallo also had a game-high nine rebounds, while Campbell notched seven boards and four blocks. Trinity was clutch from the charity stripe all afternoon with 20 makes in 25 attempts (80%). Hamilton's Kelcie Zarl led all scorers with 21 points, but was just 9-for-25 from the field. Claire Sehring paced the Continentals on the glass with eight rebounds.
