Trinity Baseball Signs Henry White Through Team IMPACT

HARTFORD, Conn. – Trinity College Head Baseball Coach Bryan Adamski announced a new team member, signing 9-year-old Henry White through Team IMPACT.  Henry, who was recently diagnosed with a gastrointestinal disorder, was officially introduced at a signing day press conference on Sunday, February 20 on campus. He will participate in many activities with the baseball team over the next two years, including games, practices, and other team events.

"We're all really excited to finally have Henry as an official member of the Trinity College Baseball Team," said Trinity senior co-captain Jimmy Fahey. "Henry is going to be a huge part of the success that we're going to have as a team this year, and having him as part of our family is going to make us better players and better teammates. We couldn't be more fortunate and proud to be able to call Henry our teammate."

Team IMPACT, a national non-profit organization, has developed a unique multiyear program that matches children facing serious illnesses and disabilities with college athletic teams across the country. Based on a clinical model, Team IMPACT guides a symbiotic relationship between teams and children focused on socialization, empowerment, and resilience.

"Team IMPACT is excited to see Henry officially join the Bantam family," said Danielle Hardee, Regional Director of Programs, Northeast at Team IMPACT. "We are proud to work alongside Trinity College, their athletic department and coaching staff to create lifelong bonds and life-changing outcomes between student-athletes and their Team IMPACT teammates."

Trinity College has worked with Team IMPACT for the past 10 years, matching 19 children across its baseball, football, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, men's swimming, softball, and volleyball teams.

"Having somewhere to go is home. Having someone to love is family. Having both is a blessing.  I think it's important to emphasize the unique experience we have at Trinity as few people get the opportunity to play a collegiate sport. I think it's necessary to take away something meaningful into the next chapter of our lives, and for Henry we can provide him with a second place to call home and family.  Playing baseball and being with this team is an experience I will remember for the rest of my life and we should provide that same experience for Henry."
