HARTFORD, Conn. - The Trinity College men's lacrosse team sailed past the United States Coast Guard Academy on their way to a 17-11 home victory. Senior attackman

Ryan Werner (Weston, Conn.) tallied three goals and three assists to lead the Bantams. The Coast Guard Bears were led by Caleb Holdridge who scored four times. The Bantams moved to 4-3 and will play next at Endicott College on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m.
Trinity jumped out to a lead just 1:11 into the contest when
Jake Baker (South Londonderry, Vt.) found McCulloch for his first of the contest. The Bantams added one more by Jake Cahill (Medfield, Mass.) before Coast Guard closed to within one goal. The game of runs by both teams continued with Werner adding two more goals for the Bantams before the Bears went on a three goal run of their own. Two goals from Ian Feely and Holdridge's first tied the game at 4-4. McCulloch gave Trinity the lead again when he broke through several stick checks on a fast-break and found the back of the net. The Bantams relinquished the lead as the Bears scored two goals in 41 seconds to take a 6-5 lead at 9:43 of the second quarter. Senior
Jackson Wood (Alexandria, Va.) knoted the game when he rifled a deep shot past the Coast Guard goalie. Werner finished his first-half hat trick on an offensive restart when he edged his defender and found the back of the net. The Bantams took a 7-6 lead heading into the half.
The Coast Guard team was not keen to go away in the second half of play. At 12:22 in the third quarter the Bears tied the game at 7-7. The Bantams went on a run of their own with goals from
Andrew Fearey (Duxbury, Mass.) and a slick back-door finish by McCulloch, both of which were assisted by Werner. McCulloch fed

William Puccio (Garden City, N.Y.) on the following play before the shot clock expired, and the scrore was, 11-7, Bantams. Holdridge added one more goal for the Bears before an excellent Werner feed found McCulloch again. Coast Guard closed the gap to within two goals, 12-10, but it was too little too late for the Bears.
