HARTFORD, Conn. - The Trinity College Bantams have defeated the SUNY Maritime Privateers, 20-4, in a men's lacrosse game this evening at Jessee/Miller Field. Trinity improves to 5-3 with its second win in a row and the Privateers drop to 2-8. The Bantams will visit New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) rival Connecticut College on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in their next game.
Trinity senior Connor McCullouch (Alexandria, Va.) opened the scoring with a goal 2:51 into the first quarter to take a 1-0 lead. The Privateers responded quickly with an equalizing goal by Connor Tomich (Freshman, Sayville, N.Y.). Trinity was next on the board with a strike by junior forward

Andrew Fearey (Duxbury, Mass.) added to the Trinity lead with a goal at the six-minute mark in the first, making it a 3-1 contest. Puccio added a second goal to his tally to stretch the lead to 4-1 after one quarter.
SUNY Maritime started the scoring in the second quarter with a goal from senior midfielder Kyle Orton (Lewes, Del.), but Puccio secured his first-half hat trick with a finish in front of the Privateer net to stretch the Bantam lead to 5-2. One minute later, junior attacker
Cullen Wolff (Maplewood, N.J.) scored his first goal of the game but was answered by Privateer sophomore midfielder Jason Corvi (Smithtown, N.Y.) to make the score, 6-3. Trinity junior
Ryan Werner (Weston, Conn.) scored with 57 seconds left in the half to make the Trinity lead 7-2 at intermission.
It was smooth sailing for the Bantams from that point on, as the home squad outscored SUNY Maritime, 6-0, in the third quarter to make it a 13-3 game heading into the final stanza. The fourth quarter was more of the same with the Bantams outscoring the Privateers, 7-1, in the frame. Puccio finished the game with five goals for Trinity, and Werner had three. Sophomore
