Women’s Soccer Ties Hamilton in Home Opener

Gabby Gratton ties the game at one a piece in the second half.

HARTFORD, Conn. — Gabby Grattan (Milton, Mass.) kept the Trinity College women's soccer team alive in its home opener against New England Small College Athletic Conference foe Hamilton with a goal late in the second half on Saturday. The Bantams and Lancers moved to 1-0-1 overall and 0-0-1 in the conference.

The Lancers' Hyla Mosher scored at 26:30 in the first half and the visitors maintained that edge until Gratton knotted the game at one apiece. With fifteen minutes remaining in the game, the senior connected with the net off the foot of Molly Broderick (Rye, N.Y.).

The home team had two close goal attempts with five minutes remaining as Cassie Lee (Newton, Mass.) dinked the crossbar and Elena Lindonen (Boxford, Mass.) bounced one off the post.

Trinity remains at home to face Eastern Connecticut State on Tuesday at 6 p.m. on Trinity Soccer Field.
