WATERVILLE, Maine – Caelin Flaherty (Upton, Mass.) had a goal and two assists to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 3-1 victory over the Colby College Mules in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) field hockey action this afternoon on Bill Alfond Field.  The Bantams, ranked No. 5 nationally, stay perfect for the season at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the NESCAC.  Colby drops to 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the league.  Trinity plays at New England tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.

After an early goal by Colby's Jackie Hill to give Colby a 1-0 lead entering the second quarter, Flaherty fed sophomore Izzy Deveney (Westport, Conn.) early in the second to tie game.  Flaherty then gave the Bantams the lead with 6:09 on the clock, while the Trinity defense did not yield a shot over the final seven minutes before the break.  Flaherty collected her fourth point of the day with an assist to sophomore Ashley Ashley Zigler (Falls Church, Virginia) for the game's final goal in the fourth quarter.  The Bantam defense remained stout after halftime, holding the Mules without a shot.  Emily Loeb had two saves for Colby and junior Olivia McMichael (Glenside, Pa.) improved to 4-0 despite not making a save.
