HARTFORD, Conn. - The Trinity College football team, which hung on for a 26-23 win at Tufts last weekend in its season opener, will host the Colby College Mules on Saturday, September 24 at 1:30 p.m. as part of the college's Homecoming Weekend festivities. The Bantams, coached by Jeff Devanney (17th season, 105-20) lead the all-time series against Colby , 38-6-2, and have won the last 13 meetings dating back to 1995. The Bantams won easily against the Mules, 35-12, in Maine last autumn, as QB Spencer Fetter (Winter Park, Fla.) threw four touchdown passes. Colby, in its fifth year under Head Coach Jack Cosgrove, is riding high after knocking off 2021 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Champion Williams last weekend, 24-14, at home in its first game. Also Saturday, Trinity will honor the memory of former captain and two-time All-NESCAC linebacker Avon Morgan '06, who died tragically on July 29. September 24, 2022 has been designated as Avon Morgan Day in the State of Connecticut by Governor Ned Lamont.

Sophomore Matt Jumes (Franklin, Mass.) made a 23-yard field goal to round out the Trinity scoring. Fetter was good on 19 of 33 passes totaling 273 yards. Kirby had 17 carries for 91 yards, while sophomore WR Sean Clapp (Wyckoff, N.J.) caught four passes for 105 yards, and Reid had seven grabs for 70 yards.
