HARTFORD, Conn. — Despite coming into the second half with a more aggressive offense, the Trinity College men's soccer team fell 1-0 to New England Small College Athletic Conference rival Wesleyan on Saturday. The Bantams dropped to 0-3-2 overall and 0-3-1 in the league, while the Cardinals improved to 6-0 and 3-0.
Zack Burd snapped the 0-0 tie with a goal for the visitors at 62:35 in the second half.
The home team offense fired 14 total shots with seven in each half and attempted five on target in the second half compared to the lone shot on goal in the first.
Bernardo Simoes stopped eight Wesleyan shots. Second-year man
Oliver Dahlen ( Wilton, Conn.) accounted for a trio of shots, while juniors
James Donaldson (Kirkland, Quebec) and
Michael Traynor (Rye, N.Y.) recorded two each.
Trinity sets off for Springfield, Mass to face Western New England University on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. contest.
