KEENE, N.H. – The Trinity College Field Hockey team cruised past host Keene State, 8-2, in a non-conference match at the Owls Athletic Complex Tuesday night. With the win, the Bantams improve to 8-4 on the season, while the Owls drop to 8-6 overall.
The Bantams wasted little time cracking the scoreboard as senior
Jackie Frank (Longmeadow, Mass.) found the back of the cage in the 4
th minute of play to hand Trinity a 1-0 lead. The Owls responded just over two minutes later when junior Irini Stefankos (Fitchburg, Mass.) scored off a pass from junior Elizabeth Gonyea (Eagle River, Alaska), tying the score at 1-1 in the opening quarter.
Less than a minute into the second quarter, Stefankos struck again to give the Owls a 2-1 advantage. On the ensuing faceoff, the Bantams stormed down field and Frank netted her second of the contest to even the score at 2-2. In the 18
th minute, Frank placed a shot past Owls sophomore keeper Clara Gorman (Stratham, N.H.) to give Trinity a lead they wouldn't relinquish. With 4:45 remaining in the first half, senior

Demi Janis (Cos Cob, Conn.), who fired a shot to the back of the cage, putting the Bantams up 4-2 at the half.
Trinity continued to pour on the offensive attack in the second half as Frank scored off a penalty corner in the 35
th minute, followed by a deflected shot from senior

With 12:04 left in the fourth quarter, Trinity first-year
Fiona Murphy (Windsor, Conn.) registered her first career goal, and then classmate
Brooke DiBiase (Chatham, N.J.) potted her second tally of the season with a goal in the 54
th minute to send the Bantams to the 8-2 victory.
The Bantams outshot the Owls, 17-3, and led in penalty corners, 11-3, during the contest. Senior
Olivia McMichael (Glenside, Pa.) made two saves for the Bantams, while Gorman notched four saves for the Owls.
The Bantams will look to extend their win streak to four games when they host Middlebury College in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) at Robin L. Sheppard Field Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Keene State hosts Rivier Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Owls Athletic Conference.
