MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Trinity College Field Hockey team suffered a 6-1 loss to top-seeded Middlebury College in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Field Hockey Championship Quarterfinals at Peter Kohn Field Saturday afternoon. The Bantams wrap the 2023 campaign with a 9-7 mark, while the Panthers improved to 16-0 on the season.
With 10:02 remaining in the first half, the Panthers delivered the first strike as senior Katie George (North Kingstown, R.I.) found the back of the cage off a pass from junior Caroline Segal (Glencoe, Ill.) to make it a 1-0 game. Middlebury senior Audrey Lazar (Orchard Park, N.Y.) netted an unassisted goal in the 10
th minute, and then junior Amy Griffin (Wilmette, Ill.) put back a rebound after Trinity senior keeper

Griffin potted her second goal of the day in the 38
th minute to extend the lead to 4-1. Junior Hanna Medwar (Andover, Mass.) added a strike late in the third quarter, and then Griffin scored her third goal with 7:44 remaining to send the Panthers to the 6-1 win.
Middlebury outshot Trinity, 40-5, during the contest. McMichael made a career-high 16 saves for Trinity, while Middlebury keeper KK Newton stopped five shots.
