HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Men's Basketball team was selected #18 in the first edition of the 2023-24 D3hoops.com Division III Top 25 Poll, released on Monday. The Bantams jump up seven spots are appearing in the Receiving Votes category in the Preseason Poll.
Trinity sits at 6-0 on the season, picking up victories over Regis College (71-56), UMass-Dartmouth (84-52) and University of Saint Joseph (70-58) along the way. Most recently, the Bantams dominated Elms College 95-60 on the road behind a 29-point effort from senior Ben Callahan-Gold. Offensively, the Bantams are producing 78 points per game, shooting 47.1% from the field, 33.3% from three-point range and 73.6% from the foul line.
Defensively, Trinity ranks second in the Nation in scoring defense, holding opponents to 53.5 points per game and 35.7 percent from the field, the 12th lowest percentage in the country. Nationally, the Bantams rank 10th in assist-turnover ratio (1.57), 25th in turnover margin (5.7), 30th in blocks per game (5.3), 30th in rebounding margin (10.0) and 33rd in assists per game (17.0).
Trinity will be back on the court Tuesday night when they travel to Anna Maria College for a non-conference battle. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
