#14 Men's Hockey Shuts Out Albertus Magnus, 1-0

HARTFORD, Conn. – The 14th-ranked Trinity College Men's Hockey team held off visiting Albertus Magnus College, 1-0, in a non-conference clash at the Koeppel Community Sports Center Tuesday night. The Bantams improve to 7-1, while the Falcons own a 7-4 mark.

After 10 minutes of back-and-forth play, the Bantams cracked the scoreboard on a Falcons power play. After Trinity cleared the puck from their zone, Albertus graduate goaltender Logan Bateman tailed the puck behind the goal, where Trinity senior Christian Hayes pressured the puck and forced a steal. Hayes spun around the far post and tucked the puck into an open net for the shorthanded goal to stake the Bantams to a 1-0 lead.

Trinity sophomore goaltender Devon Bobak preserved the 1-0 lead for the Bantams with 15 saves over the final two periods to lock up the 1-0 victory.

The Bantams dominated the shot column, 39-17, while the Falcons won the faceoff battle, 30-28. Bobak registered his second shutout of the season with 17 saves, while Bateman made a game-high 38 saves for the Falcons.

Trinity will be back on the ice for a battle with the #1 team in the nation, Hobart College, Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. at the Koeppel Community Sports Center.
