Box Score HARTFORD, Conn. - The Trinity College Bantams lost, 3-0, to the visiting Wesleyan University Cardinals in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's ice hockey action this evening at Williams Rink in the Koeppel Community Sports Center. Trinity, ranked No. 14 in the nation, loses for the first time in 13 games and is now 16-6-1 overall after a 4-5 start to the year. Wesleyan improves to 14-6-3. The teams will both close their regular seasons tomorrow in Middletown. Trinity, at 13-3-1 for 39.5 points in the league, will earn the top seed in the NESCAC with a win, a tie, or an overtime loss, while Wesleyan, at 10-4-3 for 36.5 points in the conference, will earn the top seed with a victory in regulation tomorrow. Trinity came out strong and outshot the Cardinals, 15-4, in the first period but the frame ended scoreless. Wesleyan turned the tables and finished the second period with a 10-8 shooting advantage and scored the game's first goal 3:44 into the stanza off the stick of Go Uemura. Theodore Griffin (Marshfield, Mass.) took five shots. Wesleyan goalie Erik Voloshin made 34 saves, including 15 in the first period. Trinity committed 12 penalties for 48 minutes.
