WATERVILLE, Maine – Despite a 53-save effort by junior goaltender
Hannah Leclair (Kensington, Prince Edward Island), the No. 6-seeded Trinity College women's ice hockey team was defeated by No. 3-seeded Colby College, 3-1, in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon. The Bantam season ends with a 12-11-1 record, while Colby advances to the NESCAC Semifinals next Saturday.
After a scoreless first two periods, Trinity netted the game's first goal at the 8:05 mark in the third frame. Senior Ethel Wihelmsson (Stockholm, Sweden) knocked in the puck on a Trinity power play with assists by first-year

Paige Kehoe (Manasquan, N.J.) to give the visiting Bantams a 1-0 lead. Trinity held the lead until 12 minutes in the third period when Colby's Beth Sinson scored a game-tying goal for the Mules at 12:56, assisted by Bri Michaud-Nolan.
The first overtime was scoreless thanks largely to 19 stops by Leclair, but 10 minutes into the second, Colby's Meg Rittenhouse tapped in the winning goal at 10:54 on a power play to end the game. Colby outshot the Bantams, 55-29, and held the advantage in the faceoff battle, 58-27. Trinity went 1-for-3 on the power play, and Colby went 1-for-4.
