BOSTON, Mass. — Two goals by
Harrison Ike (Allentown, Pa.) and one by
Jon Krikorian (Windham, N.J.) and
Ryan Werner (Wesron, Conn.) midway into the third period sealed the strong 14-9 win at Emerson College for the Trinity College men's lacrosse team on Tuesday. The Bantams moved to 3-3 on the season, while Emerson fell to 3-6. Trinity remains on the road when ir travels to New England Small College Athletic Conference fo Tufts University on March 25 at 1 p.m.
Jack Almeida (New Canaan, Conn.) netted the first goal of the contest 54 seconds into the opening quarter to quickly put Trinity up, 1-0, before two Emerson goals in the following seven minutes. Almeida netted a second goal of the stanza followed by
Andrew Bailey (Madison, N.J.) a minute later before Birk Swan connected with the net for Emerson to tie the game at three apiece. Almeida's hat trick goal put the Navy & Gold up by one in the second stanza, before a trio of Emerson goals padded the home teams lead by three.
A minute and a half into the third, Ike ignited a Bantam followed by a trio of goals to put Trinity up, 8-7, followed by an insurance goal by
Tyler DeSimone (St. James. N.Y.) with less than two and a half minutes remaining. Trinity netted five more shots in the fourth frame including tree-straight by Ike across the final eight and a half minutes.
Cooper Yaccino (Kenilworth, Ill.) made seven saves in the box for the Bantams, while Malcolm McGrath stopped 20 Trinity balls.
