NORTON, Mass. - The visiting Trinity College Bantams fell behind, 5-0, early and could not fight their way back in a 14-5 loss against the Wheaton College Lyons in baseball action this afternoon at Sidell Stadium.  Trinity drops to 18-12 entering a three-game road series against Williams that starts tomorrow at 4 p.m.  No. 11-ranked Wheaton improves to 29-5.  Trinity senior OF Brandon Chow (Greenwich, Conn.) reached base safely with two singles, an HBP and two walks in four plate appearances, scored a run, drove in a run, and stole two bases.

Trinity allowed three runs in the first inning and two in the second, before rookie starter Kody Perry (Greenbrae, Calif.) settled down and tossed three scoreless innings in the third, fourth, and fifth frames.  Trinity cut its deficit to three runs at 5-2 in the sixth inning.  Senior Patrick Dillon (Bronx, N.Y.) doubled to lead off the inning and scored on a single by classmate Andrew Tuozzolo (Pittstown, N.J.).  Bantam junior Yoshi Omi-Jarrett (Mill Valley, Calif.) drove Tuozzolo in with a two-out single and stole second but was left stranded.  Wheaton answered with two runs in the bottom thw sixth to make the score, 7-2, with three innings remaining.

Chow manufactured the third Trinity run the next inning when he was hit by a pitch, advanced to third on a wild pitch and a passed ball, and scored on a sacrifice fly by first-year Tyler Bernstein (Ponte Vedra, Fla.), but the Lyons added four more runs in the bottom of the seventh stanza.  Bantam rookies Andrew Thomas Park (Flushing, N.Y.) and Dylan Schnitzer (Huntington, N.Y.) both singled and scored in the eighth inning to make it, 11-5, but Wheaton scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth and retired the Bantams in order in the ninth.  Perry fell to 4-1, allowing eight hits and seven runs with six walks in 5.1 innings, while Ben Oliveria improved to 4-0 with five innings of work for the Lyons.  Omi-Jarrett had two hits for Trinity.
