Women's Soccer Plays Conn To A 1-1 Draw

NEW LONDON, Conn.  – The Trinity College Women's Soccer team battled host Colby College to a 1-1 tie in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) clash at Silfen Field Tuesday night. The Bantams move to 2-8-3 on the season and 0-5-3 in conference action, while the Camels sit at 2-5-2 in the NESCAC and 5-7-1 overall.

The contest proved to be a defensive battle as both sides maintained clean sheets for more than 75 minutes of action. In the 78th minute of play, the Camels broke the scoreless tie as senior Clare Mulvhill scored off a feed from first-year Chloe Koubel to take the 1-0 lead.

The Bantams persevered and delivered the equalizer as junior Elena Lindonen connected with classmate Alyssa Keane in front of the net for the finish to even the score at 1-1. Trinity first-year goalkeeper Lily Bracken delivered a clutch save following the goal to maintain the 1-1 final score.

The Camels edged the Bantams in the shot column, 12-10, while Trinity held the advantage in corner kicks, 6-5. Bracken logged four saves for the Bantams, while senior Ella Kahrl made a match-high six saves for Conn College.

The Bantams will be back on the pitch when they host Hamilton College in NESCAC action Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Trinity will hold their Senior Day celebration prior to the match. The Camels travel to Williams College for a NESCAC tilt Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
