Trinity Falls in Three to Wesleyan

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Trinity College volleyball team was defeated by host Wesleyan University, 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-23), in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) matchup on Friday night. Trinity's record now stands at 12-2 overall and 2-2 in conference play, while Wesleyan improves to 8-5 overall and 2-1 in the NESCAC.

Senior Eva Lekovic led the Bantams' offense with 10 kills, followed closely by Bella Cafuzzie with 9 kills and 3 service aces. Trinity's defense was strong, recording a game-high 7 blocks compared to Wesleyan's 5, with Cafuzzie contributing 5 blocks, Ellie Gordon adding 4, and Lekovic chipping in 3. Junior Caroline Howell also had an impressive performance, registering 21 assists and 10 digs, leading the team in both categories.

Wesleyan's standout performers included Michelle Jorba, who notched 17 kills, Ali Landa, who distributed 28 assists, and Adrienne Nguyen, who recorded 19 digs. The Cardinals also had a balanced serving attack, with Bianca Gonya, Elliana Moreno, Morgan Mattson, and Nguyen each contributing aces.

The Bantams will be back in action on Saturday, October 5th, in Oosting Gymnasium as they host a non-conference tri-match featuring the visiting Worcester State University Lancers and the Nichols College Bison. The first match is set to begin at 11 AM.
