MEDFORD, Mass. – The Trinity College Field Hockey team fell to Tufts University in a New England Small College Athletic Conference match, losing 3-0. With this defeat, Trinity's record drops to 4-4 overall and 0-4 in conference play, while Tufts improves to 4-2 in the NESCAC and 7-2 overall.
After nearly 32 minutes of scoreless back-and-forth play, the Jumbos broke the deadlock with a deflected shot off Hayley Gables' pads. Kylie Rosenquest was in the right place to capitalize, scoring the first goal of the game. Tufts extended their lead to 2-0 at the 41-minute mark, courtesy of a goal by Hannah Biccard as the team entered the fourth quarter.
Just three minutes into the final quarter, Tufts scored their third goal on a penalty corner, with Claire Gavin finishing from an insert pass by Kylie Rosenquest.
First-year goalkeeper Sydney Korkosz had a standout performance, recording a career-high 19 saves, including 11 in the first half.
The Bantams will return to Robin L. Sheppard Field on Wednesday, October 9, as they host the Wesleyan University Cardinals for a NESCAC clash at 6 PM.
