HARTFORD, Conn. – The sixth-ranked Trinity College Men's Basketball team shook off a slow start to roll past visiting Elms College, 97-42, in a non-conference tilt at Oosting Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. The Bantams improve to 4-0 on the season, while Elms dips to 0-5 overall. The Bantams registered their highest point total since a 113-91 victory over Mitchell to open the 2021-22 season.

Jared Berry helped spark the Bantams offense, netting a career-high 22 points, shooting 5-of-7 from three-point range, with four rebounds and three assists off the bench. Junior
Jarrel Okorougo logged with first double-double of the season with 20 points, a game-high 11 rebounds and four assists. Senior

Junior Aden Goffe paced the Blazers offense with a team-high 11 points and four rebounds. Senior Aaron Sanchez tallied eight points, while classmates Kishaun Cole and Taje Green chipped in six points each.

Trailing 2-1 after the opening three minutes of play, the Bantams offense kicked into gear with a 15-2 run, featuring eight points from Okorougo, over the next three minutes to build a 16-4 advantage. Drew Lazarre buried back-to-back three-pointers as Trinity expanded the lead to 43-13 with 4:01 remaining in the first half. The Blazers outscored the Bantams, 7-5 to close the period, setting the score at 48-20 heading into halftime.

Trinity kicked off the second half with a 13-4 run, paced by eight points from Okorougo, to possess a 61-24 advantage with 15:17 on the clock. After three-pointers from Vetter and Dorion, Berry erupted for a 13-point spurt over the next eight minutes as Trinity's lead swelled to 90-35 with 5:02 to play. The Bantams dominated Elms on the glass, 51-23, and in the paint, 30-12. Trinity's bench outscored the Blazers reserves, 47-26, during the contest. The Bantams connected on 34-of-74 (45.9%) from the floor, including 15-of-39 (38.5%) from three-point range, and 14-of-21 (66.7%) from the foul line. Elms shot 11-of-49 from the field, 3-of-21 (14.3%) from three-point, and 17-of-23 (73.9%) from the free throw stripe.

The Bantams will look to remain in the win column when they travel to Western New England University (3-2) for a non-conference clash Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
