Box Score HARTFORD, Conn. – #9-ranked Trinity College Men's Ice Hockey team skated past the visiting Manhattanville College, 5-1 on Sunday afternoon. The Bantams now own a 4-1-1 record overall, while the Valiants lower to 3-4-1.
The game remained scoreless after the first period, despite Trinity dominating play with a 26-14 edge in shots, including 15-6 on goal. Manhattanville had a power-play opportunity but struggled to generate offense, managing just one shot, which was blocked by Trinity's Alexander Mozian.
The Valiants broke the deadlock with an early goal by Johno Hoins who lit the lamp just a minute into the frame to give Manhattanville a 1-0 lead. Trinity did not waver as they responded with a goal from Jacob Wilson who received a pass from David Paluch from behind the net to tie the game 1-1 less than two minutes later.
The Bantams kept up the intensity as Connor Sedlak netted the Bantams second goal with an assist by Theodore Griffin, making it 2-1 at 13:57. Trinity added another just before the period ended when Nick Royster scored at 18:17, with assists from Griffin and Chase McInnis, to take a 3-1 lead into the second intermission.
In the third period, James Barbour extended Trinity's lead to 4-1 just 15 seconds into a power play at 3:32. Less than 10 seconds later, Richard Boysen sealed the victory with an even-strength goal, making it 5-1.
The Bantams dominated the shot column tallying 92-to-38 attempts in the game, with 51-to-21 landing on goal. Manhattanville tallied 20 blocked shots led by Michael Locke. Trinity was given 6 penalty opportunities, tallying 12 minutes of powerplay time, converting only one.
Trinity goaltender Devon Bobak made 20 saves, stopping six in each of the first two periods and eight in the third. He played 57:42 in net before Aiden Hopewell finished the game with 2:08 of ice time.
Trinity will host the visiting New England College Pilgrims on Tuesday, December 3rd at 7:30PM in the Koeppel Community Sports Center.
