Two Assits and Goal From Marretta Lift #7 Bantams Over Mules, 5-3

HARTFORD, Conn. - #7 Men's Ice Hockey skated past visiting Colby College in Koeppel Center Friday night recording five goals in the first two periods to collect the 5-3 victory in NESCAC play.

Kyle Tomaso lit the lamp just nine seconds after the puck drop, followed by Nicholas Siffringer adding a second goal, lifting Trinity to a 2-0 lead early in the NESCAC battle. The Mules didn't wait long to answer back as Michael McEachern and Tyler Crist both knocked one in to deadlock the score 2-2, all within the first 4 minutes of play.

In the second the Bantams went on another 2-0 run with goals from Gerard Marretta and Richard Boysen. Colby ripped eleven shots on net, Jayden Grier found success and slipped one past Bantams' goaltender Devon Bobak to close the gap by one, 3-4. With even strength on the ice Theodore Griffin found a hole in the Mules defense and scored the Bantams final goal of the night, 5-3.

Bantams added 13 more shots in the third but settled with five goals on the night, Bobak denied the three final attempts by Colby finishing the game with 17 saves overall. Trinity outshot the Mules 30-to-20, winning 34-of-62 faceoffs with a game high of 15 from Spencer Korona.

The Bantams will be back on the ice in Koeppel Saturday, Feb.10th as they host Bowdoin College at 4PM.
