MEDFORD, Mass. - #9 Men's Basketball played a well balanced two halves recording forty-one points in each with four scorers in the double-digits in the 82-66 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) win against Tufts University. Bantams wrap up their regular season (23-1, 9-1), while Tufts close out (18-6,5-5).
Trinity out-scored Tufts 41-to-20 in the first half of play, shooting 15-for-33 from the floor for a percentage of 45.5%, adding 7-for-16 (43.75%) from beyond the arc. In the second half the Bantams were sent to the charity stripe with an opportunity for twenty-six points, where they cashed in twenty recording a 76.92%. The Jumbos doubled their scoring in the final twenty minutes of play putting up forty-six, out doing the Bantams 46-to-41 in the second. Trinity wrapped up the evening with a comfortable lead of 82-66 for the final.
Ben Callahan-Gold recorded a game-high of 19 points, knocking down 4-for-7 from the three. Sophomore Jarrel Okorougo added 18 points, four assists and six rebounds, along with 14 points from Will Dorion and a game-high of 11 boards from Dana Smith. Henry Vetter handed a game-high of nine assists, while collecting 8 rebounds and cashing in 10 points for the Bantams.
Trinity College Men's Basketball will be hosting the NESCAC quaterfinals next Saturday, Feb 17th, the conference will announce playoff matchups and times Sunday, Feb.11th.
