HARTFORD, Conn. - Women's Basketball was victorious on their senior day serving Tufts a 57-30 loss in Oosting Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. Bantams wrap up the regular season (18-6,8-2), while the Jumbos close at (11-12,3-7).
Trinity Women's Basketball recognized senior starter Emma Wax and senior starter Reilly Campbell prior to the game. During the third quarter Campbell scored her 1,000th career point at Trinity College, making her the 12th Bantam to reach the thousand point plateau.
The Bantams out-scored the Jumbos 31-to-14 in the first two quarters, holding a wide margin lead to begin the conference match-up. Both teams suffered a drought in the third quarter, but the first half cushion was enough to sustain a fourth quarter push from the Jumbos. Bantams wrapped up the regular season with a 57-30 win heading into playoffs. Â
Trinity was led by Bria Fuller who cashed in 12 points and collected five boards, while Emma wax added 12 points with 8 rebounds. Campbell knocked down 11 points with 6 boards, adding 1 block and a steal on the day. Indi DelRocco recorded a game-high handing out 4 assists, with Samantha Slofkiss adding 7 points and three rebounds from the bench.Â
Bantams went 23-for-54 (42.6%) from the field and knocked down 10-of-13 (76.9%) from the charity stripe. Tufts shot 8-for-51 (16.67%) from the field and hit 12-of-19 from the foul line (63.2%), both teams added double-digits from the bench with 17 from Trinity and Tufts with 13.
Trinity College Women's Basketball will be hosting the NESCAC quaterfinals next Saturday, Feb 17th, the conference will announce playoff matchups and times Sunday, Feb.11th.
