McGuckin Nets Five In 20-10 Victory Over Ithaca

SPARKS, MD. - Sophomore Molly McGuckin scored five goals to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 20-10 victory over Ithaca College in a non-conference women's lacrosse action Wednesday afternoon for a neutral site game. Trinity improves to 3-1 overall with their second win in a row. Ithaca was served their first loss now with a record of 3-1 in a young season.  Trinity will host Springfield College on Wednesday, March 20th at 6PM.

Trinity netted the first eight goals with two from McGuckin, Brooke Kurtz and Natalie Miller. Alex Lesko added to the early scoring along with a player up goal from Grace Denious to build a lead of 8-0 after the first quarter. Ithaca would have some offensive success breaking the surface with three goals in the second quarter. The Bantams added another goal from McGuckin just under the 10 minute mark to put Trinity up 9-1 at half.

The Bantams could not be stopped as they added 11 more to their total with goals from McGuckin, senior Caitlyn Buermann, senior Natalie Miller, Kurtz, Denious, Sarah Marvin, and Lesko. Ithaca netted 9 more goals over the course of the second half, but was not enough to catch up to the Bantams.
