Men's Lacrosse Down Wolves, 13-8

DANBURY, CONN. — Two goals from Tyler DeSimone, Jon Krikorian, and one from Matt Pecora, Hayden Shin and Cam Elenteny in the fourth period sealed the strong 13-8 win at Western Connecticut State University for the Trinity College men's lacrosse team on Wednesday. The Bantams moved to 1-3 on the season, while WCSU fell to 4-2. Trinity remains on the road when they travel to St. Joseph's Long Island to battle against University of Scranton March 16 at 2p.m.

Cam Elenteny netted the first goal of the contest 4 minutes into the opening quarter, followed by two more Trinity goals to quickly put the Bantams up, 3-0. David Burleson  netted the first goal of the stanza followed by Peter Cannon to close out the second quarter sending the Bantams into the half, leading 5-4. 

The Wolves knotted the score 5-5 in the third quarter just under a minute of play. The Bantams were held off from scoring til Bo Page and Matt Pecora scored under 8 minutes remaining in the third, regaining the lead 7-5. 

The Bantams added two back-to- back insurance goals to put Trinity up 9-5 with just over 8 minutes remaining in play. WCSU were able to sneak in two more goals in the 8th minute and the 6:57 minute to hint at the possibility of another lead change. Trinity netted four more shots in the fourth frame from Krikorian, Shin, DeSimone (2), and Elenteny (2), securing the 13-8 victory.

Jordan Opdahl made thirteen saves in the net for the Bantams, matching WCSU's Brendan Grove 13 Trinity balls stopped.
