NEW LONDON, CONN. - Men's Lacrosse out shot Coast Guard 7-2 in the opening quarter to give them a boost to a 17-11 victory in their non-conference road match Wednesday afternoon. Bantams even out their record 3-3, while the Bears drop 1-5. Trinity will host Williams College on Saturday, March 23rd at 1PM on the Jessee Miller Field.
Jay Ottomanelli fired first for the Bantams netting back-to-back unassisted goals to lift the Bantams to a 2-1 lead with 12:55 remaining in the first. Ottomanelli registered five goals in the non-conference battle against CGA, with his first four goals netted in the first half of play. The Bantams out shot Coast Guard 50-to-35, winning over half of the face offs and going 1-for-1 in extra man opportunities.
In the first quarter the Bantams went on a 5-0 run to close the first quarter up, 7-2. Trinity began to waiver in the second as Coast Guard was able to find the lanes to Trinity's net as they attained five goals, closing the deficit to a three point game 11-7.
Bantams caught their second half wind as they cashed in five more goals, two from Jack Connors, both unassisted to regain a comfortable lead over CGA, 16-10. The Bantams and CGA Bears would only net one goal a-piece in the fourth to finalize the game 17-11 Bantams.
