Women's Lacrosse Fall Short to Ephs, 8-6

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Trinity College Women's Lacrosse fell on the road this afternoon to Williams College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference meeting in Williamstown, Mass. The Bantams received their second loss of the season, now 4-2, 1-2, while the Ephs rise 4-1, 2-1 on the young season. Trinity will travel to Babson on Sunday, March 24th for a non-conference meeting at 2PM.

The Bantams and Ephs matched shots in the NESCAC battle with both teams notching 23 each. Trinity played a cleaner game on Friday afternoon only giving up 11 turnovers, while Williams recorded 19. The Bantams were 100% with clears, 11-for-11 in the first half, 12-for-12 in the second totaling 23 successful clears. 

Trinity fell short 4-3 in the first quarter, with goals from Molly McGuckin and Caroline Lally to lift the Bantams ahead of the Ephs, their only lead of the game 2-1. McGuckin would net her second goal of the game with 20 seconds remaining in the first to make it a one point game, 4-3.

For the remainder of the contest the Ephs held the Bantams to only three goals, with one tossed in from McGuckin in the third, and two back-to-back from Caroline Lampert and Kaeley Zito to close out the game 8-6 for the final.
