WELLESLEY, MASS. - Trinity College Women's Lacrosse traveled to Babson College for a non-conference match up on MacDowell Field on Sunday afternoon where they were bested, 16-7 for the final. Bantams are 4-3 as they make their way into the middle of their season, Beavers own a 5-1 record. Trinity Lacrosse will be back on Robin L. Sheppard Field for a NESCAC clash against Bates College for the Bantams Allumnae Appreciation Game on Saturday, March 30th at 12PM.
Trinity beat the Beavers in ground balls finishing the game with 19, while Babson picked up 18. Bantams were out shot 33-to-22 by the Beavers, with both teams tallying a total of eight goals each,
Ali Macdougall (4) and
Olivia Aguirre (4) split time while in the net for the Bantams while Babsons' Kathleen Murphy tallied up all eight for her team. For successful clears Trinity registered a higher success rate going 16-for-19, while the beavers recorded 20-for-25.
Goals were peppered across the Bantams line, beginning with one from
Caroline Lally in the first quarter. The rest were sprinkled throughout the game from
Natalie Miller, a man up goal from
Caroline Lampert, and
Brooke Kurtz. To finish the game
Kaeley Zito,
Molly McGuckin and
Sydney Aitkenhead netted the final three back-to-back goals.
