AMHERST, Mass.- Trinity College closed the weekend with an 8-0 victory over the Amherst College Mammoths. Bantams went 1-2 in the three-game series in NESCAC play.
Trinity owns a 10-13 record (3-5 NESCAC), while Amherst is currently 16-5 on the season (4-2 NESCAC).
Series Game One Notes (Saturday Double Header)

In the second inning, Jack Matthews 1 run single to left field, scoring Jack Ryan (unearned), 1-0 Bantams.

Amherst J. Dove hit a sacrifice fly out to right field for an RBI scoring J. McDermott to grow their lead, 3-1.

In the fourth inning with the bases loaded Trinity scores after a wild pitch advancing all three runners a base, scoring Jack Ryan, 2-3.

Dylan Schnitzer hit a sacrifice fly to center field, sending William Sawyer across the plate, tying the game 3-3.

In the bottom of the fourth Mammoths record a big eight run inning with a four run homer by C. LaFrenier. (11-3)

The Bantams remained at three runs till the 7th inning.

At the top of the lineup Aidan Stern singled through the right side with bases loaded to advance the runners sending home Andrew Thomas Park (11-4)

Dylan Schnitzer followed with a single up the opposite side for 2 RBI's with William Sawyer and Jack Ryan crossing the plate. (11-6)

Sean Meth doubled to right field, sending home Schnitzer and Stern, 11-8, Bantams slowly climbed their way back.

The final two runs are scored off of a double by Park to down the right field line, Frain and Meth make it home.

Tyler Griffin tossed 3.1 innings for the Bantams (2 strikeouts, 7 hits, 7 runs, and 3 walks), splitting time on the mound with Joseph Capano, Brendan Grady and John Leahy for the final innings.Â

Series Game Two Notes (Saturday Double Header)

Bantams registered one run in the opening inning with a ground out shortstop by William Frain to send home Aidan Stern.

Trinity continues to add more runs in the third inning with a triple by Frain, his third RBI of the game, 3-0.

Later in the 7th inning Andrew Thomas Park hit a three run shot over the center field fence to take the lead, 6-3.

Mammoths secure the win with a walk-off single up the middle by J. Boyle, 7-6.

Ian Brown tossed for four innings registering 3 strikeouts, 4 hits, 3 runs, and 3 walks. Drew McGowan (1 inn.), Tyler Colditz (1 inn.) and Thomas Fahey (1.1 inn.) split time on the mound for the Bantams.
Series Game Three Notes (Sunday Single Game)
Bantams hold Mammoths to no runs in game three of the series, downing them 8-0 for the final.Â

In the second inning William Sawyer hit a 2 run dart over the left center fence scoring Andrew Thomas Park. 2-0

Jack Matthews singled through the left side, William Frain scored making it a 4-0 game in the top of the third.

Fourth inning Bantams added three more runs off of a single, and a two run homer by Sean Meth.

To close out the game William Sawyer hit a solo shot over the left field fence to mark the 8th run of the game.

On the mound for the Bantams was Aceto Michael who tossed a 6 hit shutout for the first 6 innings, he was relieved by Alex change to finish out the game tossing 4 strikeouts and allowing two hits with no runs.

Aceto picked up the win, while Chang earned the save in the NESCAC play.
