MEDFORD, Mass. - Trinity College wrapped up the weekend with narrow losses in both games against the Tufts University Jumbos, falling 5-4 in game one and 2-1 in the nightcap. The Bantams finished the three-game NESCAC series with an 0-3 record.
Trinity now holds an 11-17 overall record (3-8 NESCAC), while Tufts stands at 16-14 for the season (7-5 NESCAC).
Series Game One Notes (Saturday Double Header)

In the first inning, with two outs, William Frain delivered a deep base hit to right field, driving in the opening run as Dylan Shnitzer crossed home plate (1-0). Shortly after, Jack Ryan's catch on H. Fleckner's attempted steal closed out Chang's opening inning with just three batters faced.

Moving to the top of the second inning, Aidan Stern's triple between the Jumbos' center and right fielders brought in Jack Ryan and Tyler Bernstein, extending the Bantams' lead to 3-0.

Brendan Grady, a first-year player, took over the mound for Chang halfway through the third inning.

The game maintained a 3-1 score until the Bantams added their fourth and final run from a fielder's choice, with William Frain scoring.

The Jumbos altered the momentum of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning with a three-hit, four-run surge.

Ultimately, the Jumbos secured a 5-4 victory over the Bantams.

For the first four innings, the game remained quiet as neither team managed to score a run.

The silence was broken in the fifth inning when the Jumbos' M. Whitfield smashed a solo home run over the left field fence to kick off the inning.

In response to the Jumbos' home run, William Sawyer of the Bantams launched one over the left field fence, narrowing the lead to just one run for the remaining innings.

On the pitching side, Michael Aceto shone for the Bantams, striking out five batters while allowing 7 hits and 2 runs over 7.2 innings. Joseph Capano came in to relieve Aceto for the final batter.
Bantams will travel to Dudley, Mass. for a non-conference game against Nichols College on Tuesday, April 23rd, at 3:30PM
