Top-Ranked Bantams Defeat Penn 6-3 in Commanding Performance

HARTFORD, Conn. – The top-ranked Trinity College women's squash team cruised past sixth-ranked University of Pennsylvania, 6-3, in their matchup on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Bantams improve to 5-0 on the season, while Penn drops to 7-1 overall.

At the #1 position, Trinity senior Malak Moustafa was defeated 3-0 (11-1, 11-5, 11-8) by Malak Khafagy. Senior Jana Safy bounced back with a 3-0 victory (7-11, 4-11, 6-11) over Franka Vidovic at #2, while senior Noa Romero was bested 3-0 (11-6, 11-5, 11-4) by Sohaila Ismail at #3.

In the #4 match, junior Hannah Chukwu dominated Savannah Margot Ingledew, winning 3-0 (2-11, 8-11, 3-11). At #5, junior Kara Lincou secured a 3-1 victory (11-2, 1-11, 9-11, 7-11) over Alexandra Stoddard.

Senior Lujan Palacios earned a 3-0 win (6-11, 6-11, 9-11) against Jana Dweek in the #6 match, and senior Janna Ashmawy fought back for a 3-2 win (11-13, 11-6, 6-11, 11-7, 1-11) over Yoshna Singhl at #7. Junior Fabiola Cabello defeated Hailey Shing-Fei Wong 3-1 (11-9, 8-11, 8-11, 8-11) at #8. At the #9 spot, Trinity first-year Varvara Kliueva fell 3-1 to Natasha Pensler (11-6, 6-11, 11-8, 11-7).
