Dear Trinity Women's Basketball Community,
As my senior season approaches its end, I have had the privilege of reflecting on my time as a student-athlete. The opportunity to represent the Trinity Women's Basketball program has been an honor, one that continues to give back to me in more impactful ways than I can truly express. Looking back just over four years ago, being a student-athlete at the college level was a distant dream that I yearned for. Trinity gave me the chance to make that dream a reality, and my team and coaches made that reality surpass my greatest expectations.
My experience has been nothing short of unforgettable, both on and off the court. Ingrained in my memory are the NESCAC championship weekends, which I have had the privilege of playing in each of my three previous seasons, the remarkable NCAA Elite Eight run that concluded my sophomore year, a return to the NCAA tournament in my most recent season, and a plethora of hard-fought battles. Far more special, though, is the culture of resilience, passion, and growth as well as the family I have found in this program. Each day, I am immensely grateful to walk into a room full of highly motivated, innately selfless, and genuinely supportive women. They challenge me to be better as a player and human, share the joy of the journey, and inspire me to demand more of myself and those around me to make seemingly lofty goals within the reach of our fingertips. In other words, they have permanently set the standard for what it means to be family.
This year, in particular, was one of great change and consequently even greater growth. We welcomed a new coaching staff into our family and set our goals together from the start: a NESCAC championship. Over the past four months, we have sharpened our play and our minds to be more resilient, deepened our connections with and trust in one another, and fallen in love with the the process of achieving our goal. Our family is as close as we've ever been, our motivation grows each day we are on the court, and our dream inches closer to reality each game we play together.
For this program would not be anywhere near what it is today without you, you are part of this family. Thank you for giving me and so many others the opportunity to pursue the game I love, a lifetime's worth of lessons, and teammates that have turned into friends then family. Thank you for being such a large part of our success story that we are actively writing. Thank you for giving us the gift of something that is so much bigger than basketball.
