NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Trinity College Women's Basketball squad fell to host Rhode Island College, 67-64, in a non-conference game at the Murray Center Sunday afternoon. The Bantams move to 10-3 on the season, while the Anchorwomen rise to 8-4 overall.

Olivia Vick charged the Bantams offense with a team-high 21 points, connecting on 4-of-8 three-pointers, with three rebounds and a steal. Junior
Theresa Twardosky netted 12 points with four rebounds and two steals, while juniors
Melissa Whitmore and
Lucy Dorion chipped in six points apiece. Senior
Hannah Marzo grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and sophomore
Madi Forman added seven rebounds.

Madison Medbury led the Anchorwomen with a game-high 25 points, shooting 8-of-14 from the field and 5-of-9 from three-point range, with seven rebounds and a game-high six assists. Angelina Nardolillo tallied 10 points with nine rebounds and two steals, while Jayda Bing had nine points and two rebounds.

After a scoreless opening three minutes of play, Rhode Island College grabbed control with a 10-0 run, featuring a pair of triples from Medbury, over the next two minutes. Trailing 13-4 at the 3:34 mark of the first quarter, Vick knocked down a pair of three-pointers to close the gap to 16-10 entering the second quarter.

Vick kicked off the period with another three-pointer to make it a one possession game, and then Twardosky followed with six straight points to even the score at 21-21 with 7:24 on the clock. Layups from Whitmore and Marzo gave the Bantams the lead, 25-24, but the Anchorwomen used a 13-4 run to regain a 38-28 advantage. Buckets from Whitmore and sophomore

Avery Marzo sandwiched a layup and three-pointer around a bucket from Vick to put Trinity within two, 41-39, with 6:11 remaining in the third quarter. Down 46-39 at the 4:57 mark, the Bantams ripped a 11-2 run, powered by four points from Twardosky and three points from Fossbender, to harness a 50-48 lead heading into the final period.

Medbury netted seven straight points to open the fourth quarter, putting RIC ahead 55-50 with 7:54 to play. After a three-pointer from Shalyn Smith put the Anchorwomen on top 65-57, the Bantams battled back with a 6-0 run, paced by four points from Dorion, to make it 65-63 with 1:21 on the clock. Medbury connected on two free throws late to put RIC up 67-64, and a last second three-pointer from Vick was off the mark, as the Anchorwomen took home the 67-64 win.

The Bantams edged RIC on the glass, 43-42, in the paint, 30-18, and bench points, 28-21. Trinity shot 22-of-68 (32.4%) from the floor, 6-of-20 (30%) from three-point, and 14-of-17 (82.4%) from the foul line. The Anchorwomen converted 24-of-59 (40.7%) from the field, including 12-of-30 (40%) from beyond the arc, and 7-of-10 (70%) from the free throw line.
