Volleyball Falls at Bates in Four Sets, 3-1

LEWISTON, Maine – The Trinity College Volleyball team suffered a 3-1 setback to host Bates College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) battle at Alumni Gym Saturday afternoon. The Bantams sit at 10-7 with a 1-5 record in conference play, while the Bobcats hold an 8-7 mark with a 2-5 record in the NESCAC.
 
What Happened:
  • The Bobcats edged the Bantams in the first two sets, 26-24 and 25-21, until Trinity cut the deficit to 2-1 with a 25-21 victory in the third set. Bates held off the Bantams in the fourth set, 25-22, to capture the win.
 
Inside the Numbers:
  • The Bantams posted a match-high 54 kills on a .191 hitting percentage with 25 attack errors and 53 assists and a match-high eight service aces.
  • The Bobcats logged 49 kills on a match-high .276 hitting percentage with 14 errors and 47 assists and seven aces.
  • Ellie Gordon led Trinity with a team-high 19 kills with a block, a dig and an assist.
  • Sarah Jeremias tallied 11 kills with seven digs and an ace, while Emma Ewart added eight kills and a team-high 10 digs.
  • Catalina Hendricks dished out 26 assists with six digs, and Scarlett Jago grabbed a team-high 10 digs.
